    Noravisionsolar project started in 2018, with creation of Queen of Sun ( La Reine Soleil) dyptique, combining acrylic painting and  assemblage, and continued later essentially with plein-air created works in postmodern impressionistic and expressionistic manner. 

    The project took an activist position yet from the beginning as being promoter of clever and sustainable recycling and upcycling of solar panels, driven also by rather troubling informations spread from IRENA’ s report in 2016. 

     However, in the same report, important statement happily gives credits to Europe : “ At present, only the European Union (EU) has adopted PV-specific waste regulations. Most countries around the world classify PV panels as general or industrial waste. “

The solution in the future is the production of harmless conductors, and the current problem can partly be solved by converting the solar panel to the image base, mural in subways, airports, tunnels – (rough rock tunnels, on the way from Bologna to Monaco …) as well following the model of the art platform Paddle 8, which conducted an auction of painted solar panels in the summer 2018.

  In latest reports ( 2023) considering situation in United States, advices and regulations around landfills can be tracked as indicated by RE-POWERING AMERICA’S LAND INITIATIVE.

CIRCULAR ECONOMY, as stated by the same IRENA, can be citated here :”Circular economy practices are one of the most important pillars for achieving emission reduction targets and accelerating the energy transition. They are expected to play a significant role in the pursuit of efficiency improvements over the medium and long term. A circular economy approach can avoid unnecessary adverse environmental impacts, build synergies and deliver economic and social benefits.”   

  In Slovenia, the distinguished solar producer, BISOL Company, actively participates in the European recycling platform. The company maintains a set of certificates, accessible at the following link. These certificates are pivotal for their operations in the highly demanding and environmentally-conscious European markets, serving as evidence of the environmental integrity of their products. In accordance with the indicated direction, the artist has been successfully collaborating with BISOL Company since 2019, aligning the principles of upcycling with the company’s robust commitment to sustainability.

   Extending the lifespan of the solar panel itself promotes responsible storage and fosters a sustainable economic model. This approach not only addresses the end-of-life management of older panels but also establishes a mechanism for upcycling, resulting in the generation of distinctive added value..

The paintings use the concept of the ready-made, in a changed contextual context they are placed into the historical course of time and at the same time have a positive influence with their decorative, aesthetic, expressive, and energetic value on the life of viewers – users, solve the problem of destruction of old panels and harmful effects on the environment while also providing revenue for artists and others – gallerists, auction houses, curators – in the Noravision Decentralised Arts ecosystem.

Diptych The Sun Queen uses the principle of creative recycling in applying the sun cover, rags, and pallets while leaving a visible solar grid, only slightly indicated in the Impressionist Sunset, acrylic paints are used.

The work was done in collaboration with Suncontract’s CEO, Mr. Gregor Novak, and a Blockchain Lady, using the sandblasting techniques to equip their new business premises.

Daily motifs are made in plein air principle in situ – Port of Koper, Port of Trieste, used classic oil paints.

The latest panel series that summarizes more of the night’s motifs is Venetian, Rialto, including the pictures of the flooded Saint Marco Square in Venice, which also points to climate change, they were made using photographs by Venetian artist and my friend , designer and architect Ana Maria Reque. I made the panels in collaboration with Bisol, a solar panel manufacturer so the original is made in Slovenia.

The physical final product, therefore, envisages the selection of already made panels, which, for the needs of metro, tunnel, and airport equipment, are printed by means of digital printing on transparent adhesive film, which is glued (according to the principle of edited graphics) to the panels to be installed in the tunnels. , etc …; part of the project covers graphically processed drawings in the sandblasting technique, but all of them still need to be protected with a special varnish.

  The big painting, is placed just at the main entrance wall, aligned with the big Murano Glass luster, is inspired by a photograph of Maurizio Eltri, beautifull sunset from Lido Di Venezia, published in the group Lido di Venezia -Isola d’Oro. Some works are inspired by lusters and architecture of Santa Chiara ( Santa Chiara Diptyque), and another, slightly Diabolique Mask in Red, inspired by a photo of the past events at Santa Chaira.

Steeped in history, the Ex Chiesa di Santa Chiara – a medieval Church –  is one of the most ancient structures on the Island of Murano whose halls have previously hosted everyone from simple nuns to exalted Doges and even Casanova. Another inspiring component is the fact of the proximity of the Murano Glass Gino Mazzucatti Factory, the fact that there was a glass production taking place in Santa Chiara and the fact that I love industrial places – brick factories ( Made several projects with Wienerberger , Goriške opekarne ) and glass Factories…

  Another theme aborded is linked with Slovenian architect Jožef Plečnik as my mother Alenka Kham Pičman was his student, depicting motifs from Križanke, restored by him, near old Church of the Cross where Ljubljana Festival is based where I’d presented at Lapidarioum atrium, and Knight’s hall, ARTES DEI, the works as Virgin Mary with a child, Diptyque of Wiseman and Beatrice….

In this video artist is talking about exhibition Artes DEI at Plečnik’s Lapidarium of Festival Ljubljana, and we see also scenes from improvisations in Glass Cathedral Santa Chiara, Murano island… The installation in the Entrance Hall of Ljubljana’s Križanke completes the cycle as the third in a series of exhibitions in September, which included a presentation with performance and ceramic sculpture at “Fragmented Identities”, BORDERS Festival by ITSLIQUID platform in Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello in Venice (September 4, 2020), and a major solo exhibition of paintings on solar panels, ceramic sculptures, painted ceramics and glass plates with the opening performance “Luce dell eterno”, (5–17 September 2020), as part of the parallel exhibition of the 4th edition of the international Venice Glass Week, and the 77th Venice Film Festival at the Lido di Venezia, in the restored medieval Glass Cathedral – Santa Chiara, Murano.

  The titles of current exhibitions – Luce del eterno and Artes Dei ( Festival Ljubljana presentation) are inspired by christian religion, and also Paradiso of Dante Alighieri; the first time I entered Santa Chiara I had a deep religious feeling, even accentuated by a fact of simple and ascetic shape of the main hall , beauty of aescetic brick walls, tall ceiling, lusters and a sunlight penetrating the edifice.

  Another inspiring component is the fact of the proximity of the Murano Glass Gino Mazzucatti Factory, the fact that there was a glass production taking place in Santa Chiara and the fact that I love industrial places – brick factories ( Made several projects with Wienerberger , Goriške opekarne ) and glass Factories…

  The external structure of the panels, which are manufactured by BISOL, is made from glass and undergoes a process in which it is painted with oil colors and then coated with a special varnish..

Valvasor and The Glory of the Duchy of Carniola

Bogenšperk Castle

Shortly after marrying Anna Rosina Grafenweger in 1672, Valvasor acquired the castle of Bogenšperk/Wagensberg near Litija (Littai), where he arranged a writing, drawing and printing workshop. Valvasor spent a fortune on the publishing of his books; towards the end of his life, his debts forced him to sell Bogenšperk Castle.

Valvasor was a pioneer of study of karst phenomena. Upon the proposal of Edmond Halley, who was not only an astronomer but also a geophysicist, his extensive treatise on the hydrology of the intermittent Lake Cerknica won him a Fellowship of The Royal Society in London.

His most important work remains the monumental The Glory of the Duchy of Carniola (original title: Die Ehre deß Herzogthums Crain, Slava vojvodine Kranjske in Slovenian), published 1689 in 15 tomes.

Some of the graphics from The Glory of the Duchy of Carniola are also used in digital NFT collages of artist Norma De Saint Picman for the promotional and marketing purposes for the upcoming exhibition on 31st of May in Bogenšperk Castle.

“Only your work will be remembered”: the 150th anniversary of Jože Plečnik’s birth

On 21 July 2021, UNESCO added four new cultural sites to its World Heritage List. One of these four was the work of the architect Jože Plečnik on Slovenia’s capital Ljubljana in the years between the world wars, transforming it from a provincial town into a celebrated example of modern, “human centred design” that nevertheless maintained a “dialogue” with the older elements of the city centre.

A few months later, the Slovenian government declared that 2022 would be considered “the year of Plečnik”, emphasising this honour and the 150th anniversary of his birth. There will be exhibitions, tours and new publications focusing on his oeuvre, which extends far beyond Ljubljana and can be found in every corner of the country. It will kick off with a series of events in the historic yet industrious town of Kamnik, where among other things he designed a memorial chapel to soldiers of both world wars, renovated the station, and – in the forest nearby – erected a hunting lodge for the first King of Yugoslavia, Alexander.

Slovenia is justly proud of Plečnik as the architect of a very recognisable national style, but he was also a true son of Central Europe, born in 1872 as a subject of the Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph and educated also in Graz and Vienna, where he studied under Otto Wagner. To Vienna he contributed the immediately noticeable Zacherlhaus in the city centre, and enjoyed a certain measure of favour in highest quarters, working on a fountain in honour of the mayor Karl Lueger, and collaborating with Lueger and the ill-fated Sophie, Duchess of Hohenberg on building a church in the district of Ottakring, whose working class inhabitants they hoped to inspire with religious feelings that would immure them against radical activities. Plečnik had instinctive sympathy for the Christian Social movement Lueger represented, and throughout his life was interested in popular expressions of Catholicism and their links with national identity.

Given his success and his position in the political mainstream, he even hoped to succeed Wagner as professor of Architecture at the School of Fine Arts, but the style of the Holy Ghost Church fell foul of the heir to the throne, Franz Ferdinand, whose tastes were far more conservative and who likened the church to a stable crossed with a sauna. Plečnik found his appointment blocked.

Convinced that his career in Vienna was over, he moved to Prague at the invitation of Jan Kotěra, another of Wagner’s pupils, and took up a post at the college of arts and crafts. He was teaching in Prague when the Habsburg empire split apart and the cities in which he had made his life and career found themselves in three separate countries. On a personal level, this was a traumatic experience for many people, never again sure to which nation they belonged, but for Plečnik it also afforded new opportunities in developing national styles with specific political overtones. His first major project for the successor states was to renovate Prague Castle, transforming the dilapidated and forbidding Habsburg fortress into a “democratic” residence for the new President of the Czechoslovak Republic, a seat and symbol of the liberal, middle class nation its leaders aspired to create. Whereas his contact with hereditary royalty was always awkward, he developed a great rapport with both the President, Tomas Garrigue Masaryk, and with Masaryk’s daughter Dr. Alice Masaryková, who shared a profound involvement in the project. Symbolic of their complex national history, he and Alice corresponded in German, the language of the vanished empire, because despite his years in Prague Plečnik lacked confidence in his own Czech-speaking abilities.

In 1921 he was invited to return to Ljubljana and take up a post at the School of Architecture at the new University. He was reluctant at first, fearing that he was moving to a backwater, but he also felt a patriotic obligation to the Slovenian people, and in the end he accepted. This post would lead to his celebrated impact on the whole of the Slovenian capital, where he remodelled bridges, built churches, and designed the national library, city stadium and cemetery. But at the same time, he also worked on projects in far more modest locations, renovating a church in the tiny north-eastern town of Bogojina, for example, simply in the hope of inspiring its townsfolk. He had limited impact on the wider Yugoslavia of which Slovenia was a component part, but did undertake two projects for the Yugoslav royal family for their visits to Slovenia. His relationship with the military-minded King Alexander was as awkward as that with Franz Ferdinand had been, however, and nothing ever came close to the rapport he had enjoyed with Masaryk and Alice.

Jože Plečnik lived an ascetic and fairly reclusive life according to his own motto, “Minljiv si, le tvoja dela so tvoj spomin” (“only your work will be remembered”) at his home in Ljubljana (which is now a museum). He survived the occupation of the city by first Fascist Italy and then Nazi Germany, and continued to teach until the last days of his life. Alenka KhamPičman, now an artist who often paints her tutor’s buildings, recalls that he came on foot to the University every day and sat all morning marking projects and sketching out ideas for his students to take up. She admired him for his “imagination, knowledge, perseverance and discipline” and for his strict commentary on his pupils’ work.

Plečnik died aged 85 in 1957. Under Communism his architecture was unfashionable and often ignored (“he was pushed away by the modern world” says Alenka KhamPičman sadly), but from 1991 the independence of Slovenia brought a new focus on his work and the national spirit he had tried to embody, elevating him to the status of a national hero and symbol of his country.

So happy to be included in the show, with two images of my paintings on solar panels from the Noravisionsolarmetaverse series!

One is entitled “Sunflower tears”, yet created in 2021, but actually presented with the reminiscence of recent painful events from Ukraine and the symbolic use of a Sunflower as their national symbol, but also as memory from the famous Van Gogh painting – actually, I was painting a sunflower in the garden, some rainy late afternoon…

The other painting, The Rose of Lovings /La Rrose d’Amour was created recently, also in the plain air, in the garden as almost all of all paintings from that series, depicting a beautiful rose, a gift from recent friend, Bojana Dornig Kavčič, and flourishing garden in the sunset. This painting is full of love, hope and harmony, with another historical reference, Duchamp’s “Rrose C’est la Vie”, a small scetch depicting – Rodin’s lovers, I’ve also realised as an drypoint already in the past.

Both paintings are using flat, transparent parts together with more pastose ones.

However, there is also a symbolic representation of fading sunflower in tears linked with actual Ukrainien war, a whisper of sadness and death into impressive almost romantic atmosphere in a Garden…; but there is a hope, as allways, in every situation, and The Rose of Love, painted in spring, my last painting, is more dynamic and hopefull.

From the entrance, on the right, the show starts with an autumn postmodern impressionist painting The way of no return, in the orange blue green yellow harmony; It’s actually a view from the author’s childhood house which in autumn turns romantic, almost sentimental, in Gorenjska region.
Golden fruits – Kakis from Sveto have more gray and orange tonality, with the slightly visible octagonal church from Sveto, at Karst, where another Noravision Gallery artist, painter, and architect Alenka Kham Pičman has a studio.
The third and fourth painting with autumn colors, with more vivid red, carmin, violet, and yellow is a Yelow rose, dedicated to the birthday Bouquet of the artist’s son Aron, placed deeper into the space, on the bottom left, near the stand of Noravoisiondecentralized Art Investments, together with second variant of Heavenly Manna, Red & Rose, Bleeding Clouds towards earth.
Other paintings, with predominant greenery , we see on the left, from the entrance, there are three paintings, placed as diptych of Sunset, red summer flowers, with the Pommier en Fleurs, pair of Fairyes.
The other four paintings in the Green Harmony placed as dyptiques at the left and right side of the main stage, are White Harmony Blossom with Rainy trees evening, on the left, and Paon Albino, Hommage à Madani Bo, Îlle de Bercy and Roe deer.

Toxic cells are used to make photovoltaic cells, whereas lead or carcinogenic cadmium is partially washed out of fragments of solar modules by rainwater. The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) estimated 250,000 tonnes of waste panels for 2016 and forecasted 78 million tonnes by 2050. Glass cannot be recycled as float glass due to its plastic, lead, cadmium and antimony content. 1.8 million panels contain approximately 45,300 kg of cadmium, which is eliminated from plates during disasters. Recycling is more expensive than the economic value of materials, so most panels end up in landfills.
The solution in the future is the production of harmless conductors, and the current problem can also be solved by converting the solar panel to the image base, mural in subways, airports, tunnels – (rough rock tunnels, on the way from Bologna to Monaco …) or following the model of the art platform Paddle 8, which conducted an auction of painted solar panels in the summer of 2018. Extending the life of the panel itself allows respectful storage and creates a positive economic model that also caters the end of old panels while creating a means of recycling and creating unique added value.
From the past exhibitions we can mention the first painted Diptique The Sun Queen which uses the principle of creative recycling in applying the sun cover, rags and pallets while leaving a visible solar grid, only slightly indicated in the Impressionist Sunset, acrylic paints are used. The work was done in collaboration with Suncontract’s CEO, Mr. Gregor Novak as well as Blockchain Lady, using sandblasting technique to equippe their new business premises.
Daily motifs are made in plein air principle in situ – Port of Koper, Port of Trieste, used classic oil colors.
Past series are summarizing night’s motifs of Venice, Rialto, including the pictures of the flooded Saint Marco Square in Venice, which also points to the climate change.
The physical final semi-industrial production predicts fabrication of covering transparent adhesivefilm for the panels, which, for the needs of metro, tunnel and airports decorative equipment, is glued, referring to the principle of editioned graphics whereas part of the project covers graphically processed drawings in the sandblasting technique, and protection with a special varnish.
From the past exhibitions we can mention group shows at MAO, Circular change; Contemporary Venice, Itsliquid, 2019 and solo exhibitions Luce dell eterno, Glass Cathedral Santa Chiara, Murano; Artes Dei, Festival Ljubljana, 2020, Metamorphoses – The Worlds of Change, Ministry for Culture, Ljubljana, and, finally, the current show Noravisionsolar – Garden of Eden.

Ways of incorporating Arts as an effective tool to build a recognizable brand and develop promotion in a corporate world – Industry & Arts

” Like in ancient times when the power of emperors was measured by the grandiosity of their palaces and the size of kingdom territory, the overall effect of impact was kind of “Gesamtkunstwerk” of symphonized opera including architecture, painting, design, decorative Arts, music, ballet, orchestra volume, the New Age bigger or smaller corporate princes or barons recognize wery well importance of canalizing their values through recognizable visual or – and audible – refined yet powerful utilization of Arts. “

As a starting point we can definitely mention investment in Art collections which is actually also an ancient principle but commonly used in several Banks, ( Lischtenstein based Bank of Royal Familly, based on collections of of historical proven artists, Factor Banka in Slovenia, based on modern authors…) Historical and estimated value of those works, gained and elevated also through auctions shows the uniqueness and credibility – beside the actual monetary power – of those companies.

Sponsorship and Collecting also present in this section, favorable for artists, enable grandiose creations and recognition for both, artist and the client. Contrary to commissioned works often depicting historic scenes or portraits nowadays, in several cases artists are developing their own stories, like Damien Hirst and his Treasures From the Wreck of the Unbelievable,” ( 2017) an underwater fantasy, with enormous sculptures and hundreds of other objects fashioned to look as though they were antiquities dredged up from the bottom of the sea, exposed in the Palazzo Grassi and the Punta della Dogana, two museums run by François Pinault, the Parisian collector who is also the owner of Christie’s auction house.

 

 

Another ambitious project is The Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris, a private modern and contemporary art center and museum, whose iconic building was designed by Canadian-born American architect Frank O.Gehry. Foundation was established at the initiative of French entrepreneur and LVMH group’s CEO Bernard Arnault in 2006 with the aim to “Promote creation in the present by adopting a position of openness and dialogue among artists, intellectuals, and the public. Astound visitors by offering a multifaceted activity that informs, exhibits and showcases the works of the 20th and 21st centuries in an exceptional space, surprising the public by exhibiting artists’ work in an innovative building, a model of emblematic zoomorphic architecture, respecting Gerhy’s model of additive architecture ( 2014).

The effective link between technology and Arts is established in line of Niio platform and products – enormous big screens, which are serving actually as kind of basic for moving images; actually, they are selling content – artwork of different artists – and screens…

Several members of Niio including co-founder, Oren Moshe, had the opportunity to spend time in Frankfurt, Germany at the B3 Biennale of the Moving Image.

Since 2013, B3 has shaped the interdisciplinary and transnational debate on trends and developments relating to the moving image in the fields of art, cinema, TV, games, design, communication and immersion. The aim of the Biennial is to create a broad interdisciplinary alliance for the moving image, and offer the international culture and creative industry a platform for innovation and exchange.

Oren Moshe participated in several official events and discussions including a panel entitled: “Accessibility and monetization of moving image art now and in the future. New platforms and new solutions.” Moderated by Julia Sökeland, co-founder blinkvideo, Oren was also joined by Clare Langan, a film and video artist from Ireland, contemporary visual artist, Erika Harrsch, collector Tony Podesta and collector Baron Futa.

Multimedia artist Quayola uses video, computer software, and installation to explore the tension between real and artificial spaces and surfaces. His works include animated hybrid paintings and sculptures, time-based digital sculptures, and immersive audiovisual installations. In digital paintings such as Topologies (2010), which examines the relationship between contemporary digital aesthetics and iconic works of art and architecture (and forms part of the artist’s “Strata” series), Quayola took paintings by Diego Velázquez and Giovanni Battista Tiepolo and transformed their surfaces into animated geometric forms. “As I work,” Quayola has said, “I start to become incredibly fascinated by the underlying shapes.

Talum d.o.o., slovene modern production company, is a world leader in a narrow circle of the most efficient manufacturers of electrolytic aluminum and aluminum alloys. More than 60 years of diligent work in Kidričevo today is reflected in enviable facts: they rank among the 15 largest exporters in Slovenia, the greatest competitive advantage is the products of the highest quality and the knowledge, creativity and entrepreneurship. Knowing that beside all that they had to be recognizable and original, actually they are exhibiting artists in their Hall, recently iconic Stojan Kebler photographs.

As the President of the Management Board Marko Drobnič presented his highly motivational speech on the KHD General Manager Silvester Kmetič’s big event “A cycle of business success, recently on 19th of November in Ljubljana, he was actually posing with a originally designed stick made from wood and aluminum, crafted from a local sculptor, and with a man’s head with an expressive face, made from aluminum. They created a series of sixty of them, each one original and slightly different ( photo will be inserted subsequently…).

I will cite also some of my case studies of dealing with this particular challenge.

Mr Robert Rolih, author of amazing bestselling book about investment The million dollar decision ( Matthew Kimberly, author of How to Get a Grip, commented about :” It is a really unusual book about investment. It is unusual, because it is seriously easy to read, eye opening and immediate actionable. If you don’t know the first thing about investing – and even, if you are a seasoned investor ) you’ll find this guide to be frightening, thought- provoking and incredibly useful. ” asked me to create an artwork for his office – to get his Metting room more vivid with impact. As he is very busy we discussed all about using digital channels – Messenger, mail, youtube messaging, and I started to realize his idea to have kind of inclusion of his already existing logo of orange kite on the blue surface, and provided one other more cosmic like photo. As I’m mostly expressive figurative artist it was really a challenge to put life into a topics which did not inspired me at the first glance and has given me some doubts about too technical execution. But it reminded me also a period in Paris, when kids were small and the eldest boy was running in the backyard of the Notre Dame park with his newest Blue and Turquoise kite in his hands and a girl after him among flowers and grass… I’ve made some small aquarelles smaller than A5 about and he’d choose a combination of two kites on the blue sky, but then also designed some changes for the composition, using Screencastify program, so I was able to start realization.

I used a wooden panel rather bigger scale, about 268 x 180 cm, and worked outside horizontally. From seven sketches I take two and My son Adrian Stell helped me to vectorize one; I reworked everything in photoshop and develop prints consequently, and use collage technics at first and painting with laque application consequently, have taken several live Fb videos from the process and used them also into edited version with dance and sculptures on niio platform, visible above. The company director as well as team were really happy with result.

Another case was a painting commissioned by assurance company Harvest d.o.o. and their owners Petra Knap and director Tomi Oražem, for their newly adapted offices. Being art collectors at heart they had a habit of investing in Arts but actually I realized this big painting especially after their particular choice, which actually happened during our discussion regarding preparatory plan I prepared with different style options. They did not like kind of expressive sketchy plain air depictions of apple trees in blue-vert-yellow and autumn leaves in orange-red, using thick application of colors but rather kind of expressive bright colors photo collage with pen drawings and automatic writings. It was actually the choice of Petra, as I included a part of elder smaller wooden collage painting, sold on a Auction Manager’s ball 2012, entitled Flamme du serment. It radiates feminine erotic vibration, dynamism, rose and red, yellow with positive energy, depictions of Sainte Thérèse and sacral element symbolized by golden leafs but also some scary – black and white old face and very material aspects symbolized by a thick application of clothing in a wave and a wooden palette. When I was working on it there was a lot of wind and it seems to be interwoven inside…Original collage includes a Chinese proverb that says ” Don’t have a business with someone you don’t trust – however trust when you have a business together “

For the last example I will mention an portrait – which can also be used as kind of original promotional tool, as long as it captures inner energy and radiation of person especially if already this person is well known for something very special – as the example of Growth Hacker Vin Clancy, who has an amazing preview in Ljubljana in October during his world tour and visited also my Gallery thanks to blockchain enthousiast Aleksander Katulus Vidmar and Youtube marketer Žan Nekrep.
